There is an ongoing debate about whether international tourism should be restricted to reduce environmental damage or whether it brings significant benefits to countries. While tourism can have negative environmental impacts, I believe that it should not be limited entirely but managed in a sustainable way.
On the one hand, international tourism contributes to environmental problems. Air travel produces large amounts of carbon emissions, which contribute to climate change. In addition, popular tourist destinations often suffer from overcrowding, leading to pollution, waste accumulation and damage to natural habitats.
On the other hand, tourism plays a crucial role in economic development. It creates employment opportunities and generates income for local communities, particularly in developing countries. Furthermore, international travel promotes cultural exchange and helps people gain a better understanding of different societies.
In conclusion, although tourism can harm the environment, it also offers important economic and cultural benefits. Therefore, instead of restricting international travel, governments should focus on promoting sustainable tourism practices to minimize its negative impact.
