Why Good Plans Don’t Last
Daniel had a habit of making plans.
Every Sunday night, he would sit at his desk and write down a detailed study schedule. He planned when to review vocabulary, when to practice reading, and how much time to spend on each subject.
Looking at his plan gave him a strong sense of motivation①.
“This time, I’ll stick to it,” he often told himself.
And for the first few days, he did.
He followed the schedule carefully. He completed his tasks. Everything seemed to be working well.
But by the middle of the week, things began to change.
One day, he felt tired and decided to skip one task. “It’s okay,” he thought. “I’ll catch up tomorrow.”
The next day, he had more homework than expected. Again, he adjusted his plan.

But gradually, he noticed a change.

Weeks later, Daniel looked back and realized something surprising.
He had studied more consistently than ever before.

It is about continuing, even after small breaks.
And sometimes, a flexible plan is more powerful than a perfect one.
